Christmas Parade down Elk Ave, Tree Lighting Ceremony, Fireworks and a "People's Choice" contest which will include best decorated window, gingerbread house contest, raffle drawing, and more. Crested Butte Bell Ringers, Carolers, and St.Nick will be present.

An all -mountain, all equipment, all person snowsports competition. It's not just a competition-style, attitude and personality are also factors. There is only one class, everyone competes together. Boys and girls, skiers and snowboarders and adaptive athletes are included. Ages 9-13. Qualifying competition for the finals on February 11-13.
Jan 14-16 Wendy Fisher's "FISHSKI" Camp for Girls Former U.S. Ski Team member, 1992 Olympian and two-time World Freeskiing champion Wendy Fisher is pleased to announce FISHSKI, a first ever freeskiing ski camp for girls, ages 12-16. Camp includes one day of big mountain and one day of jib park coaching by Wendy and CB Mountain School professional ski instructors, a two day lift ticket, welcome orientation and snacks, two breakfast vouchers, two lunches and final wrap-up pizza party. Feb 7 18th Annual Alley Loop Cross-Country Ski Race (5K, 10K, ½ and full marathon) Nordic enthusiasts race through the snow-lined alleys and the outskirts of Crested Butte in numerous events, including a 42K, the highest altitude marathon in the country. The Alley Loop Marathon is a qualifier for the prestigious American Birkebeiner. Open to racers of all ages and abilities. (970) 349-1707.
Feb. 12 Life-Link/Dynafit Randonnee Rally
The third annual Life-Link/Dynafit Randonnee Rally, modeled after the popular "Rally’s" in Europe. Competitors to ski their way up, down, and across Crested Butte’s legendary Extreme Limits terrain. The Randonee Rally is part of a series throughout the U.S. with competitors vying for over $10,000 in cash and prizes. Feb 22-26 14th Annual SAAB U.S. Extreme Freeskiing Championships
The first in the U.S. to launch an extreme skiing contest, Crested Butte marks fourteen years of freeskiing competition this season. Competitors vie for the largest cash purse on the freeskiing circuit and sweet prizes from all the sponsors. A skiercross kicks off the event followed by three days of big mountain/extreme competition. Junior athletes age 14 - 17 also welcome to compete. Feb 23 7th Annual SAAB Salomon Crossmax Skiercross Series
The SAAB Solomon Crossmax series will kick of the Freeskiing competition with over $10,000 in cash and prizes. Competitors will race head-to-head in high-speed action over man-made jumps and banked turns on a course that begins at the resort's hot spot, the Ice Bar. The event is hosted by the well-know crazy commentator, "Uncle E," adding to the crowd's excitement and amusement throughout the day. A junior division, ages 14 - 17 is also available. A unique 3 day event for the public to test ride the latest technology Salomon has to offer in alpine skis, snowboards and other winter equipment- all free of charge. Visitors can also win prizes and receive great giveaways from Salomon and partner SAAB.

March 1 – 5 11th Annual U.S. Extreme Boarderfest
Hundreds of the best riders in the country gather here each year to test their athleticism in three events-big air, boardercross and classic extreme/big mountain competition-in this four-day snowboarding open. Junior athletes age 14 – 17 are also welcome to compete. (970) 349-2303.

Mar 24-26 9th Annual U.S. Extreme Freeskiing Telemark Championships
Over 100 free-heelers take to the slopes to compete in this Telmark freeskiing event complete with welcome reception and awards party. The two-day big mountain event attracts the biggest names in the telemark industry and is unique to Crested Butte. Free telemark demos and specialty clinics also take place during this Telemark celebration culminating with the legendary Al Johnson Race .
Mar 27 30th Annual Al Johnson Memorial Uphill/Downhill Telemark Ski Race
A popular local telemark race named after a diehard 19th century Crested Butte mailman who delivered mail to remote mining camps. Hundreds of costumed participants ascend 600 vertical feet to the crest of the North Face, then race down the double-black diamond terrain to the finish. (970) 349-1323.

April 1-2 9th Annual Elk Mountain Grand Traverse
An extreme endurance race that links Crested Butte to Aspen. At the stroke of midnight, skiers start out over a 40-mile course that takes them from the base of Mt. Crested Butte through remote wilderness terrain, across two mountain passes and finishes at Aspen Mountain. Skiers must start, compete and finish in teams of two. (970) 349-7133.
